We want every designer, buyer, and workroom to be able to use this site, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, or a magnified display. This page says what we aim for, what we have done, what still needs work, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

What we are aiming for

We build and maintain this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA. That is the standard most often used to judge whether a website is usable by people with disabilities.

Aiming for a standard is not the same as meeting it on every page, every day. A catalog this size changes constantly. We treat accessibility as ongoing maintenance, not a box we ticked at launch.

What is in place today

Every page can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, and the focused item is always visible.
Headings run in order, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure instead of guessing.
Photos uploaded to the catalog require a text description before they can be published.
The whole site reads in English and in Spanish.
Text and background colors are checked against the contrast levels the standard asks for.
The site is checked automatically for accessibility problems on a schedule, not only when someone complains.

Known gaps we are working on

We would rather name these than let you find them.

Some text and background color pairs, mostly in the fabric filter panel, do not yet reach the contrast level the standard asks for. This is being corrected.
Tear sheets are PDF files supplied by our mills. We do not control how they are built, and some of them are scans that a screen reader cannot read. If you need the details from any tear sheet in a readable form, ask us and we will send them to you directly.
A few older catalog photos have short descriptions that could be more useful.
